This program is specially prepared to introduce basic science concepts to the Kindergarten 1 and 2. The concepts are presented in an easy-to-understand approach with a variety of interesting activities that will keep the children motivated in wanting to learn more. Skills are important part of learning science.
The following is a list of basic science process skills :
- · Observation – This is skill where learners gather different information and clues using their senses.
- · Space – Time Relationship – This relates to the study of shapes, distances, directions, motions, speeds and rates of change.
- · Classification – Students will learn to classify objects and phenomena through identifying similarities and differences, after making a series of related observations.
- · Measurement – In basic science, measurement is done using strings, rulers, cups, thermometers. Measurement and estimation skills are vital in the learning of science.
- · Communication – Learners will be taught to record and explain scientific findings of evidence using spoken or written word, drawings, graphs
- · Prediction — Learners should be able to make ‘intelligent guesses’ or predictions’ based on their observations or investigations;
